Emergency Medical Technician

The pre-hospital care of patients has changed and evolved over the last 25 years to bring us to the highly regarded service we have today. Many ambulances today are staffed solely by EMTs with a paramedic free roaming in an ambulance car. Other ambulances are crewed by paramedic and EMT. This is a partnership that involves good teamwork as a paramedic is not able to fully treat a casualty on her/his own. The EMT throughout the world has gained respect as a knowledgeable professional who promotes recovery through training and practice second only to a paramedic.

Paramedic Sciences

Paramedics are at the forefront of emergency pre hospital care, now equipped with more drugs and advanced techniques than ever before. Medic 1 proudly addresses this with its own student paramedic programme. Students, in line with the current Health Professionals Council (HPC) have to achieve a degree in "paramedic science" to become registered as a paramedic.
